You'll arrange your own flight into and out of Oaxaca International Airport (OAX) arriving October 3 and departing October 10.
You will be shuttled from the airport to The Villa at La Cúpula in Teotitlán del Valle where you'll have 7 nights of wonderful accommodations.
This Moorish-style villa has open patios with incredible views of the Sierra Juarez Mountains. The restaurant on site serves Oaxacan moles, tlayudas and much, much more. Phone and Internet, bath tubs, restaurant service for guests, and maid service are all included.
What?
We'll stay in Teotitlán del Valle, Oaxaca, Mexico. It is a small village about 45 minutes outside of Oaxaca City.
We'll explore Teotitlán, nearby pueblos, and Oaxaca City during our time together. You'll get around in a chartered bus. Breakfast will be available early, but we won't leave for our adventures until 10am. There will be plenty of time for rest!
We will also have time for learning about local craft traditions with skilled artisans with hands-on learning as part of the fun.
We'll have the opportunity to enjoy the cultural sites of the area, some with guided tours.
We'll dive into the delicious foods of the region at restaurants, cafes, and market vendors around Oaxaca and at our homebase in Teotitlán.
This Oaxaca retreat is just right for explorers who want to enjoy the beauty and deliciousness of this amazing place with a touch of reflection and mindfulness practice along the way!
That mindfulness practice will include Thinking Routine's from Harvard's Project Zero as well as tools that invite us to be more fully available to the moment even as we explore outside of our comfort zones.

The Manifesto
These retreats will operate from a basic understanding that I'm calling a "manifesto." Here is the current prototype of the manifesto so that you might have a general sense of the foundation upon which our experience will be built.
Together, at these retreats, we will:
- explore out of the way, rustic experiences.
- focus on people & their places.
- grow relationships.
- share generative experiences.
- aim at depth of experience over breadth.
- move more slowly than regular life.
- will engage all of our senses.
- commit to being co-creative.
- rhythmically alternate between experience and reflection.
- have programmed time and space for processing and reflecting, both solo and in dialogue.
- use skill learning and practice as ground for personal transformation.

Flights
The Chase United MileagePlus card offers a great points bonus after satisfying some spending requirements. My husband and I got this card in September of 2022 and had earned enough points by the end of the year for both of us to travel to Oaxaca and back at the end of January 2023. We paid a little over $200 total in fees that miles didn't cover. We had earned enough miles on a second card that I got with his referral link to go again within 4 months.
